The Aarli is a contemporary Asian eating house that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Owner and head chef Nicholas Wendland started The Aarli 15 years ago and has been written up in The Good Food Guide the past 6 years, critiqued by food reviewer Rob Broadfield, written up in The West Australian paper, taken part in cooking shows with both international and national chefs and made the top 500 restaurants in Australia 2 years running.

About the role

The Aarli is seeking a confident individual who has the ability to ensure smooth running of a busy front of house. The applicant will be responsible for managing up to 10 staff at any given time, they will be responsible for ordering, stock control, staff training, daily cash up and customer liaison. Successful applicant would have the ability to manage staffing levels and complete weekly rosters that work in line with peak and off peak tourist seasons.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks and be confident training new staff
  • Customer relationship management skills and customer service skills
  • Have responsible service of alcohol certificate
  • Have completed a qualification in hospitality
  • Have barista or coffee making skills
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be confident in complaint resolution with both customers and employees
  • Maintain cleaning standards according to venue and Government legalisation
  • Have basic destination knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task
